Frank Mittelstadt was born and raised in
Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Currently he lives
on Beaver Dam Lake with his lovely wife Lori
and their yellow lab, Biscuit, who loves to
pose for paintings. Much of the inspiration
for Frank's work is found in his own back
yard, the lake and the marshes that surround
his home.
Whether working in acrylics, oils, pastels or
pencils, he always strives for the most
accurate portrayals of the natural world. He
is known best for his bold lighting and
meticulous details.
Being a self-taught artist, Frank has garnered
a remarkable list of awards which include:

1993 & 1999
